Dear Ms. Matthews,
This semester's Pride Alliance Lesbian & Gay Film Festival seems to be another indication that Allegheny College is stumbling under pressure from homosexual activists.
February's hedonistic film "Before Night Falls," which is based on Reinaldo Arenas memoir by the same name tells of the many casual sexual partners, the contraction of AIDS and the eventual suicide of the star. Reinaldo Arenas, estimates that he had 5,000 sexual partners by age 25! This "revealing" film was followed by March's lesbian film "Aimee and Jaguar" based on the story of the sexual encounters between the wife of a Nazi officer and a Jewess during World War II. Now the April 11th showing of John Cameron Mitchell's cross-dressing video "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," the story of a sex change operation that goes bad. What next?
Allegheny College seems to be endorsing a very dangerous lifestyle through this series of films. According to the Oxford University International Journal of Epidemiology, the life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men. Nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently aged 20 years will not reach their 65th birthday."

How many 20 year old male students attend Allegheny College?
Also the Medical Institute for Sexual Health reports that women who have sex with women are at significantly increased risk of bacterial vaginosis, breast cancer and ovarian cancer than are heterosexual women."
Multiple sex partners are part of the homosexual lifestyle. Thus the spread of AIDS is once again up to the levels of the 80's -- at epidemic proportions. Yet, your school of higher education is encouraging students to enter or remain in this lifestyle! True concern and compassion would be truthful about the dangers of the homosexual lifestyle, not paint a picture that, in real life, does not exist.
I hope that Allegheny College will show real concern for its students and reconsider showing the film "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" this Thursday, April 11.
Sincerely,
Diane Gramley
